Hi. My name is Andrea King. I am with Anderson & Associates and I want to talk about the difference between flood damage and water damage. Oftentimes the difference is misunderstood.
With flood, you think about rising water, water rising from the ground, storm surges. That is a flood.
Water damage is like a pipe breakage, toilet overflowing, dishwasher leaking and those are different covered perils or losses and flood is not typically on a home insurance policy. So if you’re worried about flood insurance, give us a call and we can do a quote for you. Flood is available to everybody. Whether or not you’re in a flood zone or not, it should be a concern. The entire State of Florida is a flood zone in my opinion.
