There are basically two ways that you can get an insurance quote these days. You can either meet with and talk to a local agent, or you can get a quote online. Which is better for you? Here are some of the pros and cons of each:

Local Agent Quote

When you talk to a local agent, you might be able to get several different quotes from many different insurers. While coverage might not be identical across all of the insurers, working with a real person gives you the ability to customize your coverage. A machine will never be able to fully provide you with the personalized attention that an agent can, which might be imperative if you are trying to save money on your insurance. The biggest downside to working with a local agent to get a quote is that there might be a fee associated with the services they have provided in helping you find and buy the insurance you ultimately choose. The advice that a skilled agent can provide you, however, usually far outweighs the cost of their services.

Online Quote

It is important to remember, however, that while you will be able to get a fast quote and may even be able to buy your insurance online, you will not have the personal interaction that comes with working with a real person, nor will you have someone to explain to you the intricacies of your policy and to make sure it is the right one for you and your needs.
