Hi. Shannon with Anderson and Associates. We get asked sometimes when someone needs to add their child to their auto policy. Some companies actually want you to add them as soon as they get their restriction where they have to drive with an adult and maybe not necessarily by themselves. It’s a good idea once your kid gets their restricted license or their permit to go ahead and call your agent, find out what the company auto requirements are and go ahead and add them.
Once they actually get their driver’s license, it’s very important that they’re added to the policy as a driver in the event they are in an accident and what of course we always recommend, if you’re unsure of when you should add your teenage driver or what your company requires, to give your agent a call.
